We asked our Construction Project Manager Dustin Browning what advice he'd give his younger self starting out.

"Don't sell anything. Keep it all."

That first Fairmount house he bought for $50k? Probably $400–500k today. The South Adams one he flipped for $100k sold again later for $650k.

Hindsight gets expensive.

Holly Elrod and Tosya Kidd behind the bar last Wednesday night at Mixing with the Stars.

Fifth annual Margarita Madness, all benefiting Children's Charities of Fort Worth. They teamed up with bartender Trent Johnson from Goosehead Insurance to serve up their own creation, and the turnout was great.

Proud of these two for showing up the way they do — for the city, for a great cause, for each other. Fun night cheering them on.

Cheers, ladies.

New Coffee & Real Estate episode is live.

Dustin Browning got into real estate the same way we did — flipping houses in Fairmount.

He bought his first house for $54k. He had $30k cash, worked out a payment agreement with the seller for the rest, and didn't have a dollar left over to hire anyone to fix it up. So he learned to do it himself.

We were flipping there at the same time. That's how we met him.

Now he's our Construction Project Manager, and he still runs construction the same way today — hands-on, and doesn't quit until it's right.

We’ve got a really special story to share about this home 💕

Originally built in 1962, this house has been in the same family for generations. Being trusted to help breathe new life into it was something we did not take lightly. Today, it is ready to continue its story and remain in the family for generations to come.

The challenge was transforming the entire space and adding square footage without losing the charm and character that made it special in the first place. That balance was key.

This project is a great example of our one-stop-shop approach. From floor plans to interior design to construction, our team worked together to reimagine the home while honoring its roots.

Mid-century modern meets farmhouse, layered with history and intention.
What’s your favorite feature?

They loved the location. The house? Not so much.

Cold finishes. No flow. A layout that didn't match how they actually wanted to live.

So we reworked the floor plans and touched every finish from top to bottom. Put walls back where they belonged. Opened things up where it made sense. And gave them a butler's pantry that might be our favorite room in the house.

Ranch homes give you the space. We gave this one the layout to match.

Meet Holly Elrod.
Agent. Brokerage Manager. Optimist. Hospitality queen.

Holly joined 6th Ave in April of 2023 and immediately became one of those people who lifts the whole room. She’s a natural leader—meticulous, motivating, and always looking for the right way to do things, not just the fast way. Younger agents look to her for guidance; the rest of us look to her for perspective, clarity, and the kind of steady encouragement that keeps a team moving.

With 11 years in real estate—and time spent in both sales and the title insurance world—Holly brings a rare mix of heart and technical expertise. She’s helped single moms find stability, empty nesters navigate transition, and countless families step into the next chapter of their lives with confidence.

She believes a home is more than a place to live—
it’s where life actually happens.
Long-lasting memories.
Family rhythms.
A backdrop for the moments that matter.

As a wife, a boy mom, and a proud Texan herself, she gets it.

Outside the office, Holly is the definition of fun—planning events, hosting friends, cheering at her boys’ games, discovering new places, and sipping a Cherry Coke Zero or champagne depending on the occasion. She’s tattooed (12 and counting), hilarious, sincere, and an absolute joy to have at any team meeting.

The kind of person who brings energy, creativity, and realism everywhere she goes.
And the kind of guide you always want in your corner.

For the third time, we're partnering with Carter BloodCare to host a blood drive right here at the 6th Ave office — and honestly, it's one of our favorite things we do.

It's not a renovation. It's not a closing. It's just a bus parked outside our building and a chance to do something that matters for people you'll probably never meet.

That's kind of the whole point.

We talk a lot about community around here. About restoration. About leaving things better than we found them. This is one of the simplest ways we know how to live that out.

🩸 Here's the deal:
Wednesday, May 20th
8:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Carter BloodCare bus at the 6th Ave Homes office

If you've been meaning to give blood and just needed a reason — this is it. Come hang with us. We'll have coffee.

We'd love to see you there.

This one’s proof that one bold move can change everything.

We went all-in on the evergreen wallpaper—and it paid off.

It’s moody. It’s playful. It sets the tone for the entire space.

This project is still one we come back to when we’re talking about personality-driven interiors.
Because when a space reflects who you are, it just hits different.

Mid-construction walk-through at one of our latest remodels in Crowley.

Sheetrock is up. Texture is on.
And the vision is starting to come into focus.

Builder-grade → custom.

Beams in the tray ceiling.
A new fireplace with bookcases.
Warm wood tones tying the whole space together.

Still a little dusty…
but you can already see where this one’s headed.

We are hiring! 🎉

Looking for a drafting designer (Revit) to join the crew.

This is a contract role—perfect for someone who cares about clean drawings, smart layouts, and plans that actually get built.

You’ll work behind the scenes with our design and construction teams to create construction sets and help think through floor plans early in the process.

The details:
• Project-based + flexible hours
• Independent contractor
• Remote (U.S.-based, Texas preferred)
• No client communication, no project management

If you’re strong in Revit, pay attention to detail, and can take a set from rough ideas to clean, buildable plans—we want to hear from you.

This Overton Park home had the square footage.

What it didn’t have was a layout that made sense.

Dark slab floors, mural walls, and a scattered floor plan made the house feel more chaotic than modern.

The homeowners wanted something simple: light, bright, traditional — anchored by Taj Mahal countertops.

So instead of chasing trends, we brought structure back.

We added walls to create a true dining room and butler’s pantry, kept a functional peninsula in the kitchen, and reworked the existing footprint to finally give the home a proper primary suite.

No added square footage.

Just better space.

Now the home feels warm, layered, and built for real life — proof that sometimes the best renovation move isn’t more house… it’s a smarter plan.
