🏡 Lawless Real Estate Word of the Week
Functional Obsolescence
Sometimes a home looks good on paper…
but feels heavy in real life.
🏠Real Estate Vocabulary ~ WORD OF THE DAY~
Functional Obsolescence is when a home’s layout or design no longer supports the way you live — and can’t reasonably be changed.
This often shows up as:
• A floor plan that no longer supports you, it disrupts your daily rhythm, too small, weird rooms, too large and rooms not being used, bathrooms that only have showers, no room for tubs, cant move a wall or knock it down....
• Rooms that feel unused or draining - wasted spaces, closed off kitchens, one bathroom, bedrooms with no privacy.
• A space that creates friction instead of flow - No or little sunlight, no entertaining room, screaming across the house to communicate, hearing every noise from a highway or neighborhood growth.
✨Your home isn’t meant to be endured. It’s meant to support your vitality, your energy, your growth, and your lifestyle.
