First and foremost, I got into real estate because I saw an opportunity to help people navigate some of the biggest financial decisions they’ll make in their lifetime.
I also understand why buyers are hesitant right now. Interest rates and home prices have a lot of people nervous, waiting, or wondering if they should even be looking.
But here’s something I think buyers need to understand about the current market:
Right now, you may have more negotiating power than you’ve had in several years.
Homes aren’t flying off the market like they were a few years ago. In many situations, buyers have more room to negotiate on price, ask for closing costs, request repairs, or negotiate other terms that simply weren’t realistic when buyers were competing against multiple offers.
And if interest rates eventually come down, there’s a good chance more buyers come back into the market. More competition can mean less negotiating power and upward pressure on home prices.
That doesn’t mean everyone should run out and buy a house today.
I’m not saying this to talk anyone into buying a home. Buying only makes sense when it makes sense for you and your family.
My job is to help you understand the market, understand your options, and recognize where there may be an opportunity to win as a consumer.
If you’ve been sitting on the fence, you don’t necessarily have to buy right now—but now may be a very good time to start looking, asking questions, and seeing what opportunities are actually out there.
Sometimes the best opportunity isn’t when everyone else is buying. It’s when everyone else is waiting.
