Our team provides the Richmond Metro area with real estate “exit strategies” for any situation. About Marc Austin Highfill, Broker/Owner
I owned a marketing and special events company called Austin’s but started investing in real estate early on. My mentor, Bill, who’s like my second dad, told me one day something that changed my perspective. He said, “Marc, if you want to eat the donuts, you have
to work in the bakery.”
At the time I had no idea what he meant at the time. But he helped me realize that I was happier and more fulfilled when dealing with real estate than with my other business. He helped me understand that I could use my marketing knowledge to help people with their real estate needs, and that I could be more fulfilled financially and personally by focusing on real estate. So I sold Austin’s, got my real estate license, and joined a local brokerage. I formed a team and saw great success. When the opportunity came about to purchase an EXIT Realty franchise, I thought it would make the most sense from a growth perspective. EXIT has a unique sponsorship formula that helps to build residual income. This has allowed me to grow my team further to share my investment real estate experience with others. The EXIT Corporation also feels like a family. From our individual offices to our full corporate headquarters, everyone is always willing to work together towards a common goal. We all deeply care about building each other’s success. My team, Marc Austin Properties, and I have the vision to help as many people as possible - both clients and fellow agents - realize the potential of investing in real estate. Real estate is one of the best places to build generational wealth. I enjoy it when a client has a challenge, because it means I can be creative in my approach to solving their problems. I don’t want to just be like every other agent or brokerage, I am unique and offer unique strategies that help make people’s lives better. My favorite client situations are where my team and I can solve a problem or help alleviate someone’s stress. My team and I have helped sellers who wanted to sell but didn’t want to leave their home, or buyers who saved for years in order to finally achieve their dream of homeownership. Or sellers who bought their “forever home” but suddenly needed to move due to life changes. Or buyers who have been struggling to find the right home in their price range. Those kinds of stories make my job worthwhile and are why my team and I do what we do. In my personal life, I am working toward my 6th-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Martial Arts has been and will always be a lifelong discipline, and it helps me in my business and coaching. I believe in always pushing to be better every day, and sharing my knowledge with others so we can grow together. I also believe in the kaizen way or compound effect - the idea that small, steady steps are the way to create long impactful change. Getting better every day by 1% will help me continue to achieve my goals, and to help others achieve theirs as well.
