I take my name down the same way I put it up: on purpose.

Everybody shows the "SOLD" sticker. Nobody shows this moment, the one where I walk back up to the sign and take my name down.

Putting a name on a sign was never the point.

👉🏾 The point was standing in the yard with someone who didn't think this was possible for them.

👉🏾 The point was the buyer who was told their credit wasn't "there yet," so they assumed the door was closed.

👉🏾 The point was the single mom who ran the numbers three times because she couldn't believe the assistance program actually applied to her.

👉🏾 The point was the military family who PCS'd here with sixty days and a prayer, trying to build something steady in a place they'd never lived before.

None of them needed a perfect financial history. They needed someone who wouldn't let "not right now" turn into "not ever." That's the job. Not just opening doors, building the plan that gets someone through them.

So when I take my name down, I'm not closing a file. I'm closing a chapter I got to be part of. And then I go find the next person who's been told to wait, and I tell them the truth: you are not unqualified. You are just unguided. Let's build the plan.
