Roof under a roof. Not uncommon.
If you listen closely you'll hear that smoke detector chirping in the background alerting you that the battery is dying. Also not uncommon 🤦‍♂️

Sometimes climbing into an attic is like taking a time machine into the early 1800's. It's always fun to see how these old houses were built, and it's a testament to the skill of those builders that these homes are still standing.

Plumbing vents let sewer gases escape safely outside and allow air into the drain system so water flows smoothly.
Here we have those plumbing gases venting into the attic. Not good 👃
