I almost pulled this oven door right off, checking the internal temp of it.😳

A loose oven door allows heat to escape, which causes uneven baking, extended cooking times, higher energy bills, and potential thermal damage to surrounding cabinets or control k***s.

​In addition, escaping heat can cause the oven to overcompensate by running continuously, putting excess wear on the heating elements or gas burner.

Make sure that if your oven door is loose, you're checking those hinges, to avoid bigger problems down the road.

An engineered roof truss missing webbing is a serious structural defect that requires an engineer-approved repair.

Why It Is a Problem?
- Load transfer: Web members (the diagonal and vertical pieces inside the truss) carry weight down from the roof chords to the walls.
- Stability loss: Without webbing, the top and bottom chords can bend, sag, or buckle under the weight of the roof.

If you have an issue like this in your attic, reach out to a structural engineer asap. They must provide a stamped repair detail specific to your truss design. Do not guess or use a generic fix.

A Temperature and Pressure Relief (TPR) valve discharge pipe must point downward to prevent severe burns from scalding water and steam if the valve trips to release excess heat or pressure.

Why, you might ask?

1. ​Directing the pipe downward ensures steam, boiling water, and residual moisture flow completely out using gravity rather than pooling inside the pipe.

2. Standing water trapped in an upward or horizontal bend causes mineral buildup and rust, which can jam the valve shut and turn the water heater into an explosion hazard.

3. Pointing the discharge pipe towards the floor, terminating 4 to 6 inches above the drain pan, ensures high-pressure boiling water discharges safely at ground level away from anyone standing near the unit.

A shower diverter is a valve mechanism that redirects the flow of water from a lower fixture (like a bathtub spout) to an elevated fixture (like a showerhead or hand sprayer).

​It works by using an internal gate or cartridge to block the default path, forcing water up through secondary plumbing using water pressure.

Over time, they can give out and this what your left with. Water coming out both ends.

Time for a new tub spout. 🛁
