I recently traveled to Capitol Hill with our REALTOR® delegation to lobby for federal legislation that tackles the red tape slowing down homeownership across the country and right here in the Triad.

After nearly three years of advocacy, the landmark 21st Century Housing Bill has finally passed. 

Here is what the bill sets out to do:
✨ Streamline & Deregulate: Cuts through layers of bureaucracy to expedite the process of buying, building, and investing in residential real estate.
✨ Support Everyday Buyers & Municipalities: Designed to expand attainable housing supply and ease regulatory pressure on local communities.
✨ Reality Check: Congress tasked HUD with spearheading many of these operational changes. Because the agency is currently understaffed and stretched thin, rollouts may take time, but the long-term foundation for buyers and investors is now in place.

Advocacy isn’t just about politics; it’s about protecting the dream of homeownership for the next generation.
