A grande latte at Starbucks costs $5.25. Meanwhile, the median price of a home in the United States is around four hundred thousand dollars right now. That means if you skipped one coffee per day, you could save up enough cash to buy your dream house in... just over two hundred years.

This is why I think it's pretty dumb advice to tell people to skip out on simple luxuries to save for a house. The math just doesn't add up.

It's better to focus on the BIG things in your budget (car payment, always paying your credit card, student loans) than to worry too much about buying a coffee.

Sometimes the little things in life are what keep us sane, so we can have the discipline to make responsible decisions on the big things!

Buying your first home is a big deal. Buying your first home after relocating across the country? Even bigger.

Lisa Ann moved here from California, rented for a while, and eventually decided she was ready to buy new construction.

We found a home she loved, but inspection concerns came up and the appraisal came back lower than expected. With her lease ending, we suddenly needed to find another home — fast.

But a tight timeline didn't mean we were going to settle.

We got back to work, and incredibly, found the perfect new-construction home right in the same neighborhood! ❤️

Lisa Ann later shared:

I’m working with several buyers looking for homes in the Greenville area and surrounding communities, and we’re trying to uncover some homes that may not be on the market yet!

Here’s what they’re looking for:

1. Greenville — 3–4 bedrooms, 2+ baths, updated or newer construction. Preferably under $350K.

2. Winterville — 4+ bedrooms, 2.5+ baths with a good-sized backyard. Open to established neighborhoods or newer construction. Up to $450K.

3. Grimesland — 3–4 bedrooms on 1+ acre. Looking for more space and privacy while still being convenient to Greenville.

4. Farmville area — 3+ bedrooms with 2–5+ acres. Ranch-style preferred. Workshop, detached garage or additional outbuilding would be a huge plus.

5. Greenville area — Investor looking for a property that needs some updating. Fixers, inherited properties, rentals and homes being sold as-is are welcome.

Supporting local businesses is one of our favorite ways to invest back into our community. 🍉🥑🍍💛

We stopped by The Watermelon Lady today and came home with an amazing haul 🤩 Yellow watermelon, fresh soursop, Criollo avocados, yellow dragon fruit, pineapple, and local honey.

It was my first time ever trying yellow watermelon, and they were kind enough to let me sample it while I was there. It was absolutely delicious; sweet, juicy, and definitely coming home with me 🍉💛

A special shoutout to The Watermelon Lady and her crew for being so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Great products paired with great customer service are always worth sharing. 💚
