These are the 3 I send clients to when they're looking for the most space for their budget.

Grove City: A fast growing community that's desirable and convenient — it has over 1,200 businesses, more than 20 parks, great restaurants, top-notch entertainment, and convenient access to all major highways.

Canal Wi******er: It's 20 minutes from Downtown Columbus with a rural, small-town downtown and strong community identity. A good pick if you want the lower absolute price tag and still want to stay closer to Columbus proper.

Commercial Point: The big draw here is the package deal: it's one of the fastest-growing villages in Central Ohio, served by the highly rated Teays Valley Local School District, and offers low taxes and a genuine sense of community — all while being minutes from everything Columbus has to offer.

Most people hear Columbus and picture downtown — the Short North, the arena, the city buzz. And yeah, that’s all here. But what they don’t tell you is that 30 minutes later, you’re pulling down a gravel road with nothing but open sky and cornfields as far as you can see.

That’s the thing about Columbus — it doesn’t force you to choose. You can grab brunch in the city, drive past a farmhouse on your lunch break, and be back for a rooftop sunset. Not a lot of places can offer that kind of range, and most Ohioans don’t even realize how rare it is.

Searching for the best neighborhoods in Columbus, Ohio? Before you pick a zip code, map your real life.

Most people ask me “Where’s the best area?” but what they really mean is: Where will our weekdays feel easier and our weekends feel fun? For young families upsizing, that usually comes down to a few routine-based questions:

• Where are you commuting (Downtown, OSU, Dublin office parks, etc.)?
• Do you want walkable errands or more space and a bigger yard?
• What does “good schools” mean for your family (district priorities, activities, after-school drive time)?
• Are you more of a Metro Parks + quiet nights family, or restaurants + events?

I live in Grove City and work a lot across the west side up through north Columbus (Hilliard, Dublin, Plain City, Delaware, and more). If you tell me your weekly routine—work location, must-have school factors, and what you do on weekends—I can usually narrow it down to a short list fast.
