Faith Parker Properties Becomes Slate & Key Realty Group, Powered by AXEN RealtyA local legacy of trust in the Catawba Valley continues under new ownership, same commitment
Hickory, N.C.— After 40 years of serving homebuyers and sellers across the Catawba Valley, Faith Parker Properties has a new name: Slate & Key Realty Group. The change, effective August 1, 2026, marks a new chapter for the local brokerage; one built on continuing the standard Faith Parker set from the very beginning, not replacing it.
Faith Parker opened her doors asking her clients the same question, year after year: "Do you have Faith in your Realtor?" It was more than a play on her name. It was a promise that trust between an agent and a client isn't something you ask for, it's something you earn, one closing at a time. That promise shaped every agent who learned the business from her, including the one now leading it into its next chapter.
Shane Greene has served as Faith Parker Properties' Broker in Charge for over 13 years. Now, as owner and Broker in Charge of Slate & Key Realty Group, Greene is stepping into the role of carrying that legacy forward."Faith spent her career building something real in this community, and I've had the privilege of standing beside her for a big part of it," said Greene. "This isn't a new company starting from scratch. It's the next chapter of a story Faith started, and I take that responsibility seriously. Slate & Key is the name over the door, but the standard inside hasn't changed."
Faith Parker will remain connected to the brokerage as a referral partner, staying close to the business and the clients she spent her career serving. As a local branch office of a national real estate firm, Slate & Key Realty Group will now offer clients the added strength of a larger network, including broader marketing reach and deeper industry resources, while keeping the same local, hands-on relationships the community has always known.
"What matters most to us hasn't changed at all," said Sheree Byrd, REALTOR® and operational lead for the brokerage. "Our clients are still going to get the same personal attention and the same honest guidance they always have. We just have more behind us now to make sure we can keep delivering on that."
