Not great, we really need some rain in Orange County...
Drought Update ποΈ: The Drought has worsened across the Northern Piedmont from Raleigh to just east of Greensboro, where Exceptional Drought, the highest level, has been added to the map. There has been little to no rain in this area for weeks, and the higher temperatures and baking sunshine have started to cause things to really dry out. Falls Lake has fallen below 70% for the first time in decades, and Chapel Hill is off to its driest start ever.
The rest of the state, the drought is about the same, with better conditions across parts of the foothills and central mountains due to repeated daily thunderstorms.
The forecast for the rest of the week into the weekend will just be isolated to scattered, hit-or-miss storms across the state, so very localized areas will get rainfall. Really need parts of the Central section of the state to get some rain soon!!
