The Hanapēpē Swinging Bridge has been connecting the two sides of the Hanapēpē River for more than a century!

Built in 1911, the narrow suspension footbridge stretches approximately 186 feet across the river and still gives you a little sway with every step. Originally, it provided residents, farmers, and plantation workers an easier way to travel between Hanapēpē Town and the fertile Hanapēpē Valley. The bridge was heavily damaged by Hurricane ʻIniki in 1992 and was later restored, with the work completed in 1996.

June’s Kauaʻi market data shows that demand is still here, but buyers are being much more selective.
