The numbers from this Madison County Commission meeting tell the story of a county that continues to grow.

Highlights from the Tax Collector’s report:

• $489 million collected in property and personal property taxes

• Nearly 2,000 new real estate parcels added compared to last year

• Approximately 500 new business accounts added

• 100% of tax lien properties sold at auction

• Zero properties added to county inventory

• $238.5 million distributed to local school systems

• $31.9 million allocated to roads and bridges

• $4.3 million distributed to volunteer fire departments
