🚚 WHAT REALLY GOES INTO YOUR MOVE?
When customers see a moving company’s hourly rate, it can be easy to think:
“Why does moving cost that much? They’re just loading and unloading.”
But there’s a lot more that goes into a professional move than carrying boxes from Point A to Point B.
Here’s what our movers are actually doing throughout the process:
📋 1. PLANNING THE MOVE
Before we ever pick up a piece of furniture, we have to understand what you’re moving, how much you’re moving, access at both locations, stairs, elevators, parking, and any special items that require extra care.
🛡️ 2. PROTECTING YOUR BELONGINGS
Furniture and other items may need to be wrapped, padded, secured, and carefully positioned to prevent unnecessary damage during handling and transportation.
🧰 3. PREPARING ITEMS FOR TRANSPORT
Some furniture needs to be disassembled so it can safely make it through doorways, hallways, staircases, and into the truck.
🔨 4. CAREFUL LOADING
Loading isn’t simply throwing things into a truck. Our crew has to think about weight distribution, stacking, stability, space utilization, and making sure your belongings are properly secured.
🚪 5. NAVIGATING YOUR HOME
Every home is different. Tight corners, narrow hallways, stairs, elevators, doorways, flooring, walls, and landscaping can all affect how an item has to be moved.
🚛 6. TRANSPORTATION & SECURITY
Once everything is loaded, the truck needs to be properly organized and secured so your belongings remain stable during transportation.
📦 7. UNLOADING & PLACING ITEMS
At the destination, the process starts all over again — carefully unloading, navigating the home, and placing your belongings where you need them.
🧰 8. REASSEMBLY & FINAL CHECK
When applicable, items that were disassembled can be reassembled, and the crew makes sure the job is completed before leaving.
