“Yes — deal breakers is stronger than “must-haves,” and the 30-year commitment gives it some weight without making it boring.

WHAT WOULD JULIE DO? 💙

Before you start looking at houses, know your 5 deal breakers.

Not the things you’d prefer.
Not the things that would be nice to have.

The five things that will actually affect how happy you are living there.

Need a fenced yard?
Need a certain school zone?
Absolutely refuse an HOA?
Need a garage?
Know you need more than one bathroom?

Write them down. And stand firm.

Because somewhere around house #8, you’re going to walk into one with a gorgeous kitchen, fall in love with it, and suddenly start convincing yourself that one of your deal breakers “isn’t that big of a deal.”

It is.

Paint can change.
Flooring can change.
Countertops can change.

Location, lot size, commute, layout and a whole lot of other things aren’t nearly as easy to fix.
