Behind on your mortgage? Help is available.
The Emergency Rescue Mortgage Assistance (ERMA) program offers up to $75,000 per household to eligible New Jersey homeowners who have fallen behind due to a COVID-19 related financial hardship.
Funds can cover mortgage reinstatement, escrow shortages, delinquent property taxes, municipal or tax liens, and future mortgage payments.
To qualify, you must own and occupy a one to four-unit primary residence in New Jersey and meet household income limits.
Apply or find a free housing counselor at www.njhousing.gov, or call 1-855-647-7700.
ERMA is administered by the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency.
