⚠️RACCOON DISTEMPER ADVISORY⚠️

There have been increased reports of raccoons with distemper in this area.
Here is some important information:
- Canine distemper is not transmissible to humans, but it can be fatal to unvaccinated dogs. Please make sure vaccinations are up-to-date.
- Keep pets leashed at all times.
- Symptoms of distemper in raccoons include:
* Appearing disoriented, confused, or lethargic.
* Stumbling, walking in circles, tremors, and rigid postures.
* Thick discharge from the eyes and nose, crusted eyelids, and coughing.
* Looking emaciated, having a rough coat, and sometimes a hardened nose and footpads.
Please do not feed any wildlife. If you see a raccoon you suspect is sick or injured, keep your distance and call Base Natural Resources at (904) 542-5927.

Keep these window safety reminders in mind:
• Keep furniture and climbable items away from windows
• Supervise young children near open windows
• Never rely on window screens to prevent falls
• Keep windows closed and locked when not in use
• Make sure your household knows your fire escape plan

A little awareness can make a big difference in keeping your home safe.

Today, we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We pay tribute to the courage of the first responders, service members, and everyday heroes whose bravery inspired a nation. Their legacy lives on as we continue to support those who serve and protect our communities.

This Labor Day, we celebrate the dedication, perseverance, and achievements of workers across our communities. Wishing all our residents a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved holiday weekend.

We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8.
