Meta has announced the launch of America's Workforce Academy (AWA), a new free skilled trades training program designed to prepare workers for careers supporting America's growing AI and technology infrastructure.

Indiana has been selected as one of four pilot states for the program. Participants will receive free training, industry-recognized credentials, travel support, daily stipends, and employment opportunities upon completion.

The program is open to applicants from all 50 states and focuses on high-demand fields such as electrical work, plumbing, mechanical systems, and fiber installation.

The discussion focused on the current business climate, economic development trends, and strategies to support the continued growth and success of businesses across the region.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy in one of the most significant military operations in history. D-Day marked a turning point in World War II and stands as a testament to the courage, sacrifice, and determination of those who fought for freedom.

What is now River Ridge Commerce Center was once part of the former Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, where ammunition and explosives were produced in support of the Allied war effort during World War II. We reflect on that history and honor the service members, workers, and communities whose contributions helped secure victory.

As we commemorate D-Day, we remember the sacrifices made on the shores of Normandy and recognize the role our region played in supporting those efforts from home.

In 2025, private developers invested $162.4 million in construction projects at River Ridge, building new facilities and expanding existing operations.

This investment reflects continued confidence in River Ridge as a destination for business growth and long-term investment. From international manufacturers to local development partners, companies big and small continue to choose River Ridge as a place to invest, expand, and create opportunities throughout Southern Indiana.

Congratulations to Ned Pfau on receiving the Southern Indiana Distinguished Citizen Award, presented by the Lincoln Heritage Council of Scouting America.

This prestigious award recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and selfless service to youth and adults through their family, church, business, community, and beyond. Mr. Pfau is certainly deserving of this honor! He served on the River Ridge Board of Directors from 1998 to 2024, dedicating more than 25 years of leadership, vision, and service to our community.

We are grateful for Ned's lasting contributions to Southern Indiana and congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.
