The Save Our Homes (SOH) Cap is back with its annual update, and it’s designed to help keep your property taxes from jumping too much each year. The cap limits increases to 3% or the change in CPI, whichever is lower, and the Department of Revenue has released the new numbers.

For 2026:
β€’ The SOH Cap is 2.7%
β€’ The 2nd Homestead Exemption is $26,411, up from $25,722

Even better? Once you qualify for Homestead, the SOH Cap kicks in automatically the following year. No extra paperwork. Just built-in protection.
