Noticing… the active process of registering details in your environment rather than passively looking.
This past weekend I was asked to speak on something that I use in my business. I was stumped for a bit I admit. I thought, claude prompted myself, and it was like my mind was blank.
I phoned a friend (or two) and narrowed it down to the concept of appreciation marketing. But something was still missing. Until I realized that in order to appreciate someone, you have to notice them first.
Everyone is competing for our attention these days. We are constantly looking down and in our own algorithms. And as if that isn’t enough, every other second there is a notification or breaking news alert. So I started to think of noticing the environment around you like coming back to your breath in meditation. It calms mental noise, creates self awareness, and gives you the opportunity to shift your mindset.
It forces us to turn our attention from the inside to the outside. And sometimes, that’s just the reset that we (the the person on the receiving end) needs.
So here’s what I noticed after spending two days with some kick ass women:
We all have our s**t.
We have all been broke.
We have all felt like quitting at some point or another.
We all decided to bet on ourselves.
We are all rockstars.
