Today, Tennessee and the world lost an icon. 🦋

Dolly Parton was so much more than a legendary entertainer. She represented the very best of our Tennessee spirit: kindness, generosity, authenticity, humor, and an unwavering love for the place she called home.

Her music brought people together, but her heart and generosity changed countless lives. From putting books into the hands of millions of children to always showing up for the people and communities she loved, Dolly leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond the stage.

We are incredibly proud that East Tennessee got to call her one of our own.

Thank you for the music, the laughter, the generosity, and for never forgetting where you came from.
