I am not sure if it is possible to furnish an entire 3200 square foot hour on Amazon but I am sure going to try. Just kidding, we have deliveries coming in from Lowes, Home Depot, Wayfair, Rooms to Go, ebay, Lamps Plus, and a couple of different art vendors (we have a bunch of custom art going in). Betwen the packages that showed up on the porch and the three trips to the community center to bring van loads of packages back to the house, my husband was on the verge of a heart attack. And he ain't seen noting yet. The big delivieries are coming on Saturday.

Sometimes you gotta get ugly before you get pretty. Last weekend we walked intothe contruction zone. The ceiling had a terrible patch job in two spots and my contractor, Lorenzo, had a plan. He knew that nothing else would be good enough for me so he scraped the entire first floor ceiling and re-textured it. He and his crew did an amazing job. The ceiling looks brand new. Next - paint on every single wall and trim. And I am so excited to see the colors go up!

Just throwing this out there.... I know which way I want to go but cost will end up dictating the decision. The house is going to have an elegant cohesiveness with some slight nod to Disney but not be an overly Disney themed house. The second floor will have an additional living space with a coffee bar/wet bar, built in cabinetry, a large TV and plenty of space to relax or play board games / video games.

But now I have an idea. A glimmer of an idea that I cannot shake. Would you prefer a Disney Villains theme for this room?

Behind the Magic.

It started out a coastal vibe. It's still a coastal vibe but with a modern twist. I am talking about my living room design. I am working around three 6 foot grey sofas that are very nice and are comfortable. They fit the space well. I also came into some really cute end table and a coffee table thanks to my realtor friend, Mark Breymeier. I am keeping those.

I am putting in a huge TV but did not want the room to be about the TV so I was looking for a dark accent color for the TV wall so it would disappear. Somehow, along the way, I fell into love with Sherwin Williams Urbane Bronze as my accent color and thought I would need to shift away from the coastal vibe but I think We may have landed on "Modern Coastal".

Take a look at the current room design and the mock-up and let me know what you think (ignore the tape on the wall, I was trying to decide what sized TV). Also comment if you would like to see more of the behind the magic decorating ideas

Behind the magic.... No posts lately because we have been packing and repacking suitcases, framing art and saying a prayer that we can get everything down to Florida safely next week. Load 2 of the Amazon haul is mostly in suitcases weighing 47 pounds (cutting it close there), 40 pounds and a 20 pound duffel. The house is literally available for five hours between guests so the only thing happening this trip is unloading everything into the garage.

And then, we will have what seems like an eternity until the painting starts in September. But there are still exciting things happening behind the scenes. Our contractor, Lorenzo has ordered the quartz countertop and custom cabinets for the upstairs TV wall with a wet bar/coffee bar. Those are being built as we speak. And I have learned that Lorenzo does not do things halfway. we are going with the "spend the money once on high end" philosophy.

I am still working on some custom art pieces and have some already done that need to be framed. But, I can't frame them here because there is no way I am getting a 60 inch framed print on a plane. Nope, framing will have to wait until september.

I don't know when the last time I was so excited about a project.
