This past week, some of our team headed to Wilmington for the Community Associations Institute NC Annual Conference & Expo! It was a great opportunity to hear from inspiring keynote speakers on community management topics and to hear our very own Kelly Shields, President of CAI, speak.

We’re excited to bring back fresh ideas and insights to better serve our communities!

We are closely monitoring Hurricane Erin and taking precautionary steps to prepare our communities and common areas, particularly those on the oceanfront.

As part of these preparations, our team will be securing pool furniture and umbrellas, as well as lifting and locking elevators where necessary. If you have personal property that needs attention, we kindly ask that you contact your maintenance staff or rental company directly.

We will continue to share updates as the storm approaches and will notify you of any issues following the storm.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.

As Hurricane Erin moves along the coast, here are some important reminders to help you protect your home. Stay Safe everyone

Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and now is the time to make sure your home and family are prepared.
Here are some key tips to help protect your property before a storm hits:

• Protect Windows: Install hurricane shutters or have precut plywood in advance to board up windows to protect them from flying debris
• Trim Trees: Keep trees around your home trimmed well before a storm to prevent damage from broken branches
• Seal Windows: Use caulk to prevent wind-driven rain from seeping in
• Review Insurance Coverage: Check your policies ahead of time to ensure your home and belongings are covered—especially for flooding, which is the leading cause of hurricane damage
• Secure Loose Items: Bring in outdoor furniture, grills, and yard décor. These can become dangerous projectiles in high winds.

We love the communities we serve — and it’s just as important to us to support communities that need protection.

Red wolves are one of the most endangered species on Earth, with fewer than 20 left in the wild — all in eastern North Carolina. Like any strong community, their survival depends on care, connection, and collective effort.
