Buying a home starts long before you walk through the front door of a property.

Here are 3 important things buyers should do BEFORE they start house hunting:

1️⃣ Check Your Credit
Use trusted credit reporting sites to get an idea of where your credit stands and make sure there aren’t any surprises. This is also a great time to gather documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, employment information, and identification so you’re prepared for the financing process.

2️⃣ Talk To A Lender
A lender can help you understand what you may qualify for, estimated monthly payments, down payment options, and loan programs that may fit your situation. Getting pre-approved can also help you move quickly when the right home comes along. If needed, I’m always happy to recommend a few trusted local lenders.

3️⃣ Know Your Wants vs. Needs
Before touring homes, make a list of your must-haves, deal breakers, and features you’d simply like to have. This helps narrow your search and keeps you focused on homes that truly fit your lifestyle and budget.

With Summer break starting for many children this week, you maybe making you plans for what to do with your kiddos!
Today is International Museum Day - and while you may be thinking "BORING" for kids - there are several hands-on interactive museum out there!
These types of activities might feel "out-of-reach" for you if your budget is tight!
But there's two options for you to check out that could help!
Many local libraries such as the Fairfield County District Library
have passes for local museums that you can borrow at no cost to you! Additionally, if your family qualifies for SNAP or Medicaid, the Museums for All program offers discounted tickets just by showing your benefits card. There's an interactive map on their website and these are the 4 that came up with a quick search!
