Selling a home with 40 years of memories is not like selling a starter home.

The boxes are heavier (literally and emotionally). The paint colors are personal. The “good china” lives in the dining room and nobody wants to talk about what happens to it.

Most realtors meet you at the listing date. I meet you 6 months earlier, at the kitchen table, with a notepad and a plan.

Twenty years in Kentucky real estate plus a specialty in senior transitions means I can quarterback the whole thing: the sort, the stage, the list, the sell.

Moving a parent into assisted living is one of the most tender seasons a family can go through. There’s grief in it. There’s love in it. There’s a long list nobody feels equipped to handle.

The hardest part of moving Mom isn’t the boxes.
