They planted roots here in their Church and community that no one can sever. Graduated from Redford High School, received a scholarship to attend Prairie View A&M University in Texas where I received a Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, my first job was at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama as a design engineer. Years later I pursued a juris doctorate at Joh
n Marshall Law School. While there I sold real estate in Atlanta, GA., to finance my education. It was very profitable until after the 1996 Olympics. I then began work with Sprint PCS, where I negotiated land acquisitions and oversee the construction of cell tower. As the PC market slowed, I began work with Travelers Insurance Company, then AAA Insurance as a residential property adjuster. Later I relocated back to Detroit to assist with aging parents. Worked as a High School math and science teacher for the Detroit Public School system. Currently in the IT arena as a CMDB administrator and Real Estate Consultant with Re/Max Dream Properties. In my spare time I work as a mentor with Bing Youth Institute. Helping young boys to transform through programs that support and improve their academic, emotional and social well-being. Life Remodeled - Detroit Non-Profit Organization is another program I work with to revitalize Detroit neighborhoods. Revitalizing Detroit is my passion, forming the City into the place we envision for the future. I work with Detroit Future City a think tank group that focuses in on the development of Detroit. For fun I enjoy the outdoors, love white water rafting, canoeing and mountain hiking. Twice a week I play on a 50’s plus basketball league. I think I still got it. 😊
