Asking my techs, what their “walk out” song would be?

You can tell a lot about a person by their walk out song. 🎶

So naturally, we asked a few of our BREDA technicians what song would play if they were making a dramatic entrance… and let’s just say, the range was impressive.

Confident? Yes.
Unexpected? Also yes.
Do we now want every service call to include entrance music? Unfortunately, yes. 😅

Drop your walk out song in the comments — we need to know who’s entering like a champion and who’s entering like a warning label.

You know it’s Joro spider season in Georgia when walking across your own porch suddenly feels like entering a haunted laser maze. Except the lasers are sticky webs. And the security guard has eight legs. 🕷️🕸️

Joro spiders are generally shy and not considered dangerous to people, but they do build huge webs — sometimes 10 feet or longer — across porches, decks, walkways, and anywhere else you were simply trying to live your life.

To help keep them under control, remove webs regularly, turn off unnecessary outdoor lighting, and trim vegetation away from your home.

And if they keep coming back like they’re paying rent? BREDA can help you take your porch back from the spider obstacle course.

Be honest, who knew the female Joro Spiders got that big? 🕷️👀

If you’ve knocked down the SAME giant Joro spider web three mornings in a row, we have some unfortunate news:
The spider is probably not taking the hint. 🕷️🕸️

Joro spiders can rebuild their webs surprisingly quickly, which is why simply removing a web once usually isn’t enough. And if your porch, deck, landscaping, or outdoor lights are attracting plenty of insects, your house may be offering some pretty prime spider real estate.

So what can you actually do about it?

Our newest blog covers simple DIY ways to make the areas around your home less attractive to Joro spiders, including:
🌳 Trimming back potential web-building spots
💡 Rethinking your outdoor lighting
🕸️ Removing webs consistently
🚪 Sealing gaps around doors and windows
🍂 Cleaning up yard debris and clutter

We’ll also explain when a few annoying webs cross over into a spider problem that could use professional help. Because Joro spiders may be here to stay—but that doesn’t mean you have to surrender the front porch.

Joro spiders are back in Georgia, and they have apparently chosen your porch, deck, and walkway for their latest construction project. 🕷️🕸️

The good news? They’re shy, rarely bite, and aren’t considered dangerous to people.

The bad news? They build massive golden webs almost overnight — usually right where you walk, sit, grill, or try to peacefully exist outside.

If you remove one web and it feels like another one appears before you even put the broom away… welcome to Joro season. BREDA can help keep those webs and surprise spider encounters under control around your home.

There are spiders. And then there are Joro spiders hanging in a 10-foot web directly across the path you were planning to walk through. Very different experience. 🕷️

These giant yellow-and-black spiders have become increasingly common around Georgia homes, especially during late summer and fall. And while they definitely look intimidating, the good news is that Joro spiders are not considered medically dangerous to people.

That doesn’t mean you necessarily want one building a condo complex over your front door.

In our latest blog, we’re answering some of the biggest questions Georgia homeowners have about Joro spiders:
• Are they dangerous?
• Why are there so many of them?
• Where do they build their webs?
• Does knocking down the web actually work?
• Should you spray them?
• What can you do to keep them away from high-traffic areas?

Before you grab the broom—or the flamethrower you absolutely should not grab—read the full blog.

🏈 IT’S FOOTBALL TIME IN GEORGIA!

Today, the Corky Kell Dave Hunter Classic kicks off the high school football season at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and for the Breda family, this one means a little more.

Long before BREDA Pest Management was showcasing Georgia’s high school athletes on television, the Breda family was involved at Brookwood High School when Dave Hunter was coaching there. That connection is a reminder of what high school football has always meant to us: community, family and giving back.

We’re proud to continue that tradition by supporting the communities we serve and helping showcase these incredible student athletes on TV.

📺 Tune in today at 5 PM on Atlanta News First (ANF) and join us as we celebrate the kickoff to another great Georgia high school football season!

BREDA is proud to support the athletes, coaches, families and communities that make Georgia special.

Quick homeowner question: If you saw bats flying around your house every night, would you know whether they were just hunting insects…or actually living in your attic? 🦇

Because there’s a BIG difference.

Bats are an important part of Georgia’s ecosystem and help control mosquitoes, moths, beetles, and other insects. But if you’re noticing bats consistently leaving the same spot on your roofline, chirping or scratching in the attic, guano near an opening, or an unusual ammonia-like odor, it may be time to investigate.

And before you grab the caulk and start sealing holes—there are a few things you really need to know. 👀

Our newest blog explains the warning signs of bats in your home, 10 things you can do to help prevent them from getting inside, what NOT to do if bats have already moved in, and why the timing of bat exclusion matters in Georgia.

Because the goal isn’t to get rid of bats.
It’s to keep them doing their pest control job outside your house.
