☀️ Here’s What’s Happening Around the South Bay – May ‘26 Edition ☀️
From neon night rides to Memorial Day celebrations, May in the South Bay is absolutely packed with events you won’t want to miss. Here’s the best of the best:
🌟 Hermosa Beach Glow Ride – May 9
📍 Location: Hermosa Beach Pier & The Strand
Light up the night! Deck out your bike, skates, or scooter with neon gear and cruise The Strand for a glowing, family-friendly evening that supports cystic fibrosis research — and happens to be one of the most magical things you can do by the beach.
🚴 Tour de Pier – May 17
📍 Location: Manhattan Beach Pier & Strand
Hundreds of stationary bikes. Ocean views. Big energy. This iconic cancer fundraiser brings the South Bay together in the most inspiring way — and the free Health & Fitness Expo is open to everyone. Come to ride, come to cheer, come to feel something.
🐟 Grunion Run at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium – May 9
📍 Location: Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, San Pedro
A true SoCal bucket list moment. Watch thousands of tiny silvery fish emerge from the ocean at night to spawn on the beach — it’s weird, it’s wonderful, and it’s right in our backyard. The aquarium’s guided program makes it a perfect outing for families and curious adults alike.
🎉 Fiesta Hermosa – May 23–25
📍 Location: Hermosa Ave & Pier Ave, Hermosa Beach
The South Bay’s biggest Memorial Day tradition is back. Over 220 artisan vendors, four live music stages, carnival rides, food galore, and 30,000+ of your closest neighbors — all free to attend. This is the one you plan your whole weekend around.
