YOUR HOME HAS A “REPORT CARD” — AND CONDITION MATTERS. 🏡

When an appraiser evaluates a home, it isn’t simply about square footage, bedrooms, bathrooms, and recent sales.

Two important factors are the home’s QUALITY rating and CONDITION rating.

And there’s something homeowners need to understand:

Your home can be beautiful on the outside and dated on the inside — or completely remodeled inside while the exterior has been neglected.

Those things matter.

An appraiser considers the overall quality and condition of the property, including things such as:

Roof, exterior paint, siding, brick and trim

Windows and doors

HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems

Flooring, cabinetry and countertops

Kitchens and bathrooms

Fixtures, finishes and appliances

Deferred maintenance and needed repairs

The quality and extent of renovations and updates

Maintenance and updating are not the same thing - and both are important.

Replacing a failing roof or HVAC system helps maintain the condition of your property.

Updating a 25-year-old kitchen, flooring, countertops or fixtures may help keep your home competitive with other homes in your market.

That distinction is becoming increasingly important.

Your home is typically one of the largest investments you will ever make. Protect it.

Don't wait until you're ready to sell and suddenly realize you need to spend tens of thousands of dollars getting the house ready for someone else.

Because eventually, you will pay for it one way or another.

You can maintain and update your home along the way - and enjoy living in a beautiful, well-cared-for home for years.

OR...

You can postpone everything, do a major renovation right before selling so the next owner gets to enjoy it.

OR...
