Today, we celebrate the richness of the traditions that make our communities stronger and more connected.

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, marks the beginning of the High Holy Days and is a time of reflection, renewal, gratitude, and hope for the year ahead. Traditionally, apples dipped in honey are enjoyed as a symbol of the wish for a sweet new year.

🏡❤️ When you visit your parents often, it's surprisingly easy to miss the subtle signs that maintaining a home is becoming more difficult.

Start outside. Check the roof, gutters, siding, drainage, and overgrown tree limbs. What is the age of the roof? Is water pooling near the foundation? Small issues today can become expensive repairs tomorrow if left unaddressed.

Inside, take note of important systems. How old is the HVAC or water heater? When was the furnace last serviced? Has the dryer vent been cleaned recently? Preventive maintenance is always easier than emergency repairs.

Pay attention to how they're moving around the home. Are stairs becoming a challenge? Are rugs, slippery steps, or poor lighting creating safety concerns?👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Look for little things that may be piling up: leaky faucets, sticking windows, running toilets, peeling paint, or unexplained water stains. These can be signs that home upkeep is becoming overwhelming.🔧

Most importantly, ask yourself: If something changed tomorrow, would we know what this house needs?

Checking on a parent's home isn't about convincing them to move. Sometimes it's simply about creating a plan that helps them stay safe, comfortable, and independent for years to come. ❤️🏡

❤️ Labor Day Weekend in RVA ❤️

If you're lucky enough to spend Labor Day weekend in Richmond, you're already in one of the best places to celebrate. ☀️🏞️🍻

As a Realtor, I spend a lot of time helping people find the right home, but one of my favorite parts of my job is introducing people to the incredible lifestyle that comes with living here. Richmond isn't just a place to live...it's a place to thrive and enjoy. 🏡✨

This weekend, you might find me:

Fall planting season is coming! 🌿🍂

I already made my seasonal trip to a few of my favorite plant shops and somehow left with more plants than I planned. (Shocking, I know. 🤷‍♀️😂) Guess some will just have to go in pots.

For now, my new garden additions are being kept in the shade to stay cooler while this week's temperatures continue pretending it's still July. ☀️ Once things settle down, they'll be headed into the garden so I can enjoy a fresh fall harvest in October. I am planting Swiss Chard, assorted lettuces, and some beets for the first time this year. Of course I need to learn how to grow the beets since I don't have any experience growing them before. Guess I will be reading up on that some. Any tips?
