Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were finally told they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Today is a day to honor that freedom, recognize the long road toward justice, and continue listening, learning, and moving forward with more care and understanding for one another.
Grateful for the chance to pause, reflect, and keep learning together.
