Shouting this one from the rooftops. Long read but idc. RAW
I am not a fan of hospitals, our deranged healthcare system, the lack of professionalism I have dealt with in medical spaces, and the overall experience Iāve had as an adult in the healthcare industry in nearly all the corners of this field.
Sitting and reflecting on the minimal good experiences Iāve had, and (because unfortunately), I HAVE HAD A LOT OF EXPERIENCES š« , ranging from personal to practice ( I used to work at a behavioral health company, dad died in 2024, Iāve had 5 automobile accidents in 6 years NONE MY FAULT literally & the list goes) I can truly express my utmost disappointment in the ALL of it.
WITH that in mind, I havenāt been to a dentist in maybe 10 years. Gross. Ick. I know. And my only excuse, ( beyond the āsystemā) is fear. Fear of a continued experience of disappointment, and this time; a fear of what Iāll discover about myself. That Iāve let this go SO LONG. That Iāve disguised my laziness behind the rue of my distaste. That itās too late for me and these gnarly whites.
Boy. Was I sorely ( figuratively & literally) wrong.
A client & even better friend, began working at this office l. Not knowing anything that I just stated above, she simply said, āI work for an amazing doctor, I think you should stop by.ā
After meeting Dr.Beckie, I can truly from the bottom of my heart say that I was blown away.
It wasnāt about her being nice.
She actually cares.
Genuinely cares for you.
We had an appointment scheduled. I come in, and fill out my intake form. Boom.
Then, like MOST DENTIST WONT, they took my blood pressure.
Pause story.
I have had issues with blood pressure my entire adult life. Unpause.
She took my BP & per usual it was high.
And then what happened next, shocked me.
They refused to work on me.
This was because they didnāt want any complications because my BP was that high.
THEN. After hearing my stories about my experiences, Dr Becky, took the day, to call around, & get me into an appointment with a new primary doctor. Not the following week. Not the following month. That day. THAT DAY.
I repeat.
MY DENTIST, CALLED OTHER DOCTORS. TO GET ME A NEW PRIMARYā”ļø
