​Wire fraud targeting home buyers is one of the fastest-growing cyber scams in the country. Hackers spoof emails to look identical to your title company, attorney or real estate agent, claiming banking details changed at the last minute.

Here is the golden rule we live by:

Title companies almost NEVER change wire instructions mid-transaction.

​Always call to verify: Before initiating any transfer, call your title officer directly using a known, trusted phone number (not the number listed in the suspicious email!).
Verify every digit: Confirm the routing number, account number, and beneficiary name verbally.
