We are headed to Merida, Mexico for one of the biggest leaps of faith we’ve ever taken for Caroline.
For the next week, Caroline will be undergoing MUSE stem cell therapy — something we have researched, prayed over, cried over, and hoped for.
For those asking what this means, here’s the easiest way I can explain it:
MUSE cells are a special type of stem cell that are believed to help the body find areas of inflammation and injury and potentially support healing and repair. Think of them like tiny “helper cells” that know where the body needs extra support.
These are donor cells (not Caroline’s own), and one of the reasons we chose this route is because they can be specially prepared and used in much higher quantities. The hope is that these cells can cross the blood-brain barrier and support areas of injury in her brain.
Will this be a miracle overnight? Probably not.
Do we know exactly what will happen? No.
But after everything Caroline has overcome — being born at 24 weeks, a 300-day NICU stay, meningitis, brain surgeries, and every obstacle imaginable — we owe it to her to chase every opportunity that could help her future.
We are hopeful.
We are nervous.
We are expectant.
And mostly… we are praying.
If you pray, please pray specifically for:
🤍 Safe travels
🤍 A smooth week of treatment
🤍 No complications or side effects
🤍 Healing in places we can’t yet see
🤍 New pathways, new strength, and new milestones for our sweet girl
Caroline has already beaten impossible odds more times than we can count. We are praying this is another chapter in her story.
Please share and pray for our girl. We believe big things can happen. 🤍
