It may sound basic, but to set yourself up for a successful home purchase you need to answer these three questions first: ❓❓❓

1.) What is my price range?🏷️
Answering this question is essential for a successful homebuying experience. It narrows down the search for when you start looking. It sets up expectations for everyone involved in your home search by putting a price on how much you could realistically offer on a home. And having a rock solid understanding of your budget makes you more appealing to a lender. ‼️Don't forget to factor in closing costs when thinking about your budget and price range‼️

2.) Will I need to get a mortgage to purchase this home?💵
Most homebuyers in the U.S. use mortgages to purchase their homes. Answering yes to this question forces you to get the ball rolling on thinking about lenders. 🏦 You can find a lender on your own or have a buyers agent recommend one. That leads us into our third question:

3.) Have I been pre-approved for a mortgage?📄
If the answer is no, the next step should be to meet with a mortgage lender and get pre-approved. Pre-approval strengthens any offer you make, guides your home search with a more specific budget, and gives you negotiation leverage in competitive markets📈
