🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Most of us know someone who has faced breast cancer. A mom, a sister, a friend, a coworker. It touches nearly every family in our community, and it’s a reminder of how much it matters to show up for each other.
Here on the Palouse, there are some incredible local organizations doing the work every day:
💗 Gritman Foundation: Funds programs that support local patients, including Bosom Buddies (free screening mammograms for Latah County women who can’t cover the cost), the Cancer Care Fund, and Light a Candle, which helps with things like groceries, housekeeping, and gas cards during treatment. 💗 Northwest Cancer Foundation of Hope: A Moscow-based nonprofit that helps Latah County cancer patients with everyday costs like transportation, housing, and medical bills. Find them on Facebook.
💗 Get screened: The Patricia J. Kempthorne Women’s Imaging Center at Gritman offers 3D mammograms right here in Moscow. Call 208-882-5377 to schedule.
