This Friday, the Senior Helpers of East Central Indiana Free Summer Concert Series welcomes Mike Milligan and Steam Shovel to the Civic Green.

For more than three decades, Mike Milligan and Steam Shovel have been delivering a powerful blend of blues, soul, and rock, earning a reputation as one of Indiana's premier live acts. Fronted by acclaimed guitarist and vocalist Mike Milligan, whose playing often draws comparisons to some of the genre's greats, the band's sound combines soulful originals, blues-driven guitar work, and the kind of energy that keeps audiences engaged from the first song to the last.

The trio has shared stages with blues legends, performed at festivals and venues throughout the Midwest, and continues to be recognized for both outstanding musicianship and an authentic, road-tested sound.

The music begins at 7:30p, but the Friday night experience starts well before the first note.

Beginning at 6:00p, enjoy dinner and treats from Groovy Grill and Danielle's Popcorn, then settle in on the Civic Green as neighbors, friends, and visitors gather for another summer evening in downtown Yorktown.

Friday nights on the Civic Green in Yorktown have become a summer tradition, and this week's performance is one you won't want to miss.

This week, the Chamber welcomes Cook & Belle, the husband-and-wife duo of Bret and Michelle Cook. Their sound blends country, soul, gospel, and classic favorites, delivered with rich harmonies and decades of professional experience. Whether performing an intimate acoustic ballad or a crowd-pleasing favorite, they bring a warmth and authenticity that has made them a favorite throughout the region.

Come early and enjoy dinner from Cocoa & Cream Collective and Three Bears Concessions beginning at 6:00p. From handcrafted desserts and baked goods to hot dogs, brats, and chili dogs, there will be plenty of options before the music begins.

The concert starts at 7:30p and is free to attend.

Bring a lawn chair, gather with friends and family, and enjoy another evening of live music, local food, and community on Yorktown's Civic Green.

Join us Friday, June 5 at the Civic Green for another evening with the Senior Helpers Free Summer Concert Series featuring the Chameleon Brothers with special guest Bella Robbins.

Chameleon Brothers bring an energetic mix of music styles spanning classic rock, alternative rock, country favorites, and original music, creating a fun atmosphere with something for nearly everyone to enjoy. Opening the evening is Bella Robbins and The Collectors, a talented local group made up of Yorktown High School graduates.
Food trucks begin serving at 6:00p and live music starts at 7:30p. Bring a chair or blanket, invite some friends, and come enjoy one of the simple traditions that helps make Yorktown such a great place to call home.

Indianapolis recording artist Andrew Young will kick off the 2026 Senior Helpers of East Central Indiana Free Summer Concert Series this Friday night on the Civic Green in Yorktown with a free community concert under the summer sky.

Known for his smooth vocals and energetic live performances, Young blends classic soul, R&B, pop, and crowd favorites into a style that connects across generations. His music career began with national recognition as a returning champion on “Star Search,” and over the years he has continued performing throughout the Midwest while building a loyal following through both original music and live entertainment performances.

Young’s sound draws inspiration from legendary soul and R&B artists while still delivering a modern and approachable live show atmosphere. His performances often move seamlessly between soulful originals, upbeat classics, and recognizable favorites that keep audiences engaged throughout the evening. He has shared stages and performed alongside nationally recognized talent throughout his career while continuing to remain deeply connected to audiences across Indiana and beyond.

The Free Summer Concert Series has become one of Yorktown’s favorite warm-weather traditions; bringing families, friends, neighbors, and visitors together on Friday nights throughout the summer. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and enjoy a relaxing evening on the Civic Green.

Food trucks will begin serving at 6:30p and the concert will begin at 8:30p this week due to the Yorktown High School graduation ceremony taking place earlier in the evening. Outside food and beverages are welcome, excluding alcohol. Alcoholic beverages must be purchased within the Yorktown DORA boundaries from participating local businesses.
