Another week of summer activities is ahead in Yorktown, with opportunities to learn, connect with neighbors, enjoy local businesses, and spend time together.
Wednesday evening, bring your lawn chairs or blankets to Civic Green for Free Summer Movies featuring Big Hero 6 at dusk. There will be a food truck at the event, Heart & Soil Fresh Farm Produce featuring farm-to-table fare.
Thursday morning, Science Central will be at the Civic Green at 10:00a with "What's the Buzz?" This free, hands-on program gives children and families a chance to discover the fascinating world of insects through interactive activities and live demonstrations.
Later that afternoon, the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce hosts the 3rd Annual Picnic on the Green from 4:00p–8:00p at Civic Green. Bring the family out for an evening of local businesses, activities, food, and community fellowship. Watch for additional details from the Chamber as the event approaches.
Friday begins with the Yorktown Farm & Artisan Market from 4:30p–7:30p at Morrow's Meadow. Spend the afternoon browsing fresh produce, baked goods, handcrafted items, and other offerings from local vendors before heading downtown for an evening of live music.
The Yorktown Summer Concert Series continues Friday evening at Civic Green. Food trucks begin serving at 6:30p, followed by Crush: The Bon Jovi Concert Experience taking the stage at 7:30p. Performing many of Bon Jovi's biggest hits, Crush recreates the sound and energy of the iconic rock band for a fun summer evening on the green. As always, admission is free. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy another night of live music in Yorktown.
