When the whole “modern farmhouse” trend started, some buyers were struggling to find their “dream”home in the suburbs of Chicago.

In the Chicagoland area most homes are traditional, brick, colonial style homes. So on first impression, some buyers did not consider them at all. Lately, some creative homeowners have found a way around it by “painting” their brick homes white. They added a darker roof, trims and doors to complete the appearance.

For a relatively low expense, the elevation of home could be completely transformed! If you’re a seller, making these changes can increase your ROI. And if you’re a buyer and you like everything about the home except for the front elevation, painting it is an option.

With rising home prices, more homeowners are spending on additions and updates such as paint to continue living in the same home or to attract a new generation of buyers.
