NEW EPISODE LIVE!
The Baker Rising More Than Dough
Sometimes you meet someone for the first time and immediately think, “Yep…we're going to be friends.” That was Michaela for me.
I met Michaela at her ribbon cutting with the Plainfield Chamber, where I got my first taste of her incredible homemade sourdough. She was a new business owner, a mom of two, a wife, and someone I knew I needed to get to know. A week later, I ordered her chocolate chip cookies for the John Greene Realtor Plainfield ribbon cutting and that little order turned into a friendship, a partnership, and eventually our Bakers Give Back events.
Michaela introduced me to other local bakers, and together we colaberated on an event where local bakers donate half of their proceeds to local nonprofits. Two events later, we've had so much fun bringing people, businesses, baked goods, and generosity together.
In this episode, Michaela lets me into the world of sourdough- yes, I finally learned what a sourdough starter actually is! We talk about building a business from home, balancing motherhood and relationships, finding time to bake, and what it means to grow something of your own while raising a family.
And maybe the most beautiful part? Michaela isn't just shaping dough- she's shaping little lives. Just as she patiently nurtures her bread, she encourages her children to discover their own gifts, find what makes them unique, and rise into the people they're meant to become.
And as fall approaches, I'm already counting down until I can get my hands on the apple c***r donuts she teased us with.
This one is filled with friendship, motherhood, entrepreneurship, community, and a whole lot of heart.
Come meet the baker behind Gallaher Sourdough- and the mom making everything around her rise.
Don’t miss your shoutout Jim Grumps Aguiar & Teresa Aguiar while reminiscing a funny situation!
