🐑🌿 The Greenway’s cutest landscaping crew is back at work!

If you’ve noticed a flock grazing along the riverbank beside the Cumberland River Greenway, they’re not just here for the view! These are the Nashville Chew Crew, a flock of sheep that visits this area throughout the year for targeted grazing—a natural way to manage overgrown vegetation and invasive plants, especially on steep riverbanks that can be difficult to maintain with traditional equipment. 🌱

The Chew Crew has been working around Nashville for years, helping maintain our city’s green spaces while reducing the need for mowers and other equipment. Sheep are especially well suited for those hard-to-reach slopes along the riverbank. 🐑🌊

We love getting to welcome these four-legged neighbors back to the greenway several times a year—and having a front-row seat from Soundwater doesn’t hurt! 💚

Fun fact: Even though you might hear them called “the goats,” the Nashville Chew Crew actually uses sheep for these grazing projects! 🐑
