Nashville is getting a whole day dedicated to Dolly Parton, and honestly, this feels about as Tennessee as it gets. 💗🎶
September 25 will officially be “Dolly Day” in Music City, with the date chosen as a nod to her famous “9 to 5.”
But this won’t just be a celebration of her music.
The whole idea is built around something Dolly has represented for years: kindness, generosity, and showing up for your community.
Buildings around Nashville will light up pink, venues across the city are being encouraged to play “9 to 5” at 5 p.m., and the night will wrap up with fireworks at 9:25.
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are even joining in, with proceeds from Friends in Low Places Bar & H***y-Tonk that day going to the Nashville Public Library and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
There’s also a “Give Like Dolly” campaign supporting nonprofits that help children, families, neighbors in need, and people finding their way through music.
That’s the thing about Dolly.
She’s never just represented Tennessee because of where she came from.
She represents something a lot of Tennesseans still believe in — taking care of people, staying humble, and using whatever you’ve got to help somebody else. 💗
If there was ever a Tennessee legend who deserved her own day, Dolly sure makes a strong case.
