If you’ve been hearing about NYC’s new pied-à-terre surcharge, you’re not alone. We’ve been getting a lot of questions.

The good news? Most homeowners won’t be affected.

The surcharge generally applies only to certain higher-value homes that are not used as a primary residence. Over the coming weeks, the NYC Department of Finance will begin sending determination letters to properties it believes may be impacted.
