Doubt. For the first time since the COVID-19 outbreak, I felt doubt. I felt fear and uncertainty about the future. Over two weeks ago, you would hear me saying that this isn't too big of a deal, that only a few would be affected and we would be back to business as usual in a short time. Now, US mortality projections are conservatively in the hundreds of thousands and the reality of not being able to work for the next few months is very apparent.
Since joining with in December, it's been a wonderful whirlwind. Most mornings I was in the office by 6:30am after over an hour commute. I worked my ass off to help with anything I could while learning from some of the best brokers in the world. I began to hit my stride and gain momentum with my business and thought this would be a mere hiccup. I was literally at a listing pitch on March 12th from a mailer I recently sent out! Now what?
Right now, I think it's crucial to take stock of what's important in life. My family is currently healthy and safe and we are able to pay the bills. Intellectually I know that that's what is most important, but in our busy world with our rat race mentality it's easy to get lost. Being reminded of how much you have and living in that gratitude is what's most important and what will get us through this.
I'm going to use this unexpected and quite frankly unwanted free time to focus on the things that matter and let go of the things I can't control. I know we're going to rebound; America always rebounds, especially New York City. Stay safe everyone and if you need anything please don't hesitate to reach out.
