It seems like once again Paris inspires NYC… First the Coulée Verte or La Promenade Plantée was one of the most important inspirations for creating this elevated park on top of an old railroad, and now might this be Paris Plage on the Seine that inspired this giant sandbox on the Hudson River?

Connections

Opened in June 2023, the High Line – Moynihan Train Hall Connector moves east along 30th Street and turns 90 degrees north along Dyer Avenue, allowing pedestrians to move north from 31st Street and then west through Manhattan West and into Moynihan Train Hall.

A new vision to increase pedestrian connectivity on the West Side, harnessing the potential of the High Line to connect neighborhoods, institutions, businesses, parks, and transportation hubs.

Ice-skating high above it all along the High Line.

Just opened this week and through early March is the ice-skating rink at the Edge.

The Edge at Hudson Yards offers 360-degree views of New York City, is 1,131 feet (345 meters) high, and extends out 65 feet (20 meters) from the 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards….

Edge at Hudson Yards, the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, is opening up an ice skating rink high above New York City streets on Tuesday.

Time Out names Chelsea as the coolest neighborhood in New York (and the #6 coolest in the world).

The reason for this epithet is pretty obvious for us who love this trendsetting west side neighborhood; the luxury of having it all at your fingertips, from the Hudson River Park and the newly opened Little Island, to the revamped Moynihan train station, the flower market and all the fantastic art galleries, boutiques, bars and restaurants along the High Line.

Gansevoort Street, Little West 12th Street, West 13th Street between Ninth Avenue and Washington Street and the Ninth Avenue slip lane are all getting hexagon-shaped planter barricades to block out car traffic, according to the local Business Improvement District.

Little Island - a high heeled leisure park on Manhattan’s West Side.

The Diller-von Furstenberg Foundation is funding the vast majority of this extraordinary project, a new 2.7-acre public pier dedicated to parkland with performing arts programming. Designed by Heatherwick Studio and landscaped by Signe Nielsen of MNLA.

Little Island will revitalize a part of Hudson River Park with almost three acres of new public park space featuring lush greenery and a diverse array of world-class arts, educational and community programming.
