A week ago, NAR released its April 2023 existing-home sales data for median sales prices, sales volumes and months supply of inventory. Hoping this is useful for you. These are notable points for your review:

* Median home sales price down year over year, but still climbing from its January low:
* Unusually for the heart of the spring sales season, national sales volume dropped from March.
* Sales volumes were well down year over year across all regions
* MSI - for existing homes (houses, condos, co-ops) - ticked up, though still low on a historical basis
* The May 2023 Consumer Confidence Index reading dropped 9% from April
* Not much change in the weekly average interest rate in recent weeks
* Average daily rates show a bit more volatility
* Important to observe the Long-term interest rates
* An interesting map just issued by the U.S. census illustrating new housing permits authorized in 2022 by state
