Right to Repair legislation is an effort to stymie planned obsolescence. Appliance makers will have to provide spare parts so that fixing a fridge or dishwasher will be most cost effective than replacing it. Our planet cannot handle more trash, and this is an important step in the right direction.

The rules will make household appliances longer-lasting and easier to fix.
