Did you know that our name, Fivesquares [Development], comes from the five “squares” of Philadelphia (where our co-founders met)?
In the late 17th century, William Penn planned the creation of five open public parks in Central Philly. These original squares included: Centre Square (what is now the site of City Hall), North East Publick Square (now Franklin Square), Northwest Square (now Logan Square), Southwest Square (now Rittenhouse Square) & Southeast Square (now Washington Square).
Our founders thought Fivesquares to be a fitting name, as they created our company with the intention of our work being meaningful and outside-the-box, with dimension that extends beyond just the typical four corners of a square, the fifth square, if you will.
