Mayor DeBlasio has stated in numerous press briefings that he will ensure accommodations are covered for all first responders…we need to turn these words into action. There is a proposed piece of legislation (Senate Bill S8125A) written by Senator Mike Gianaris (D-Queens) and supported by Council Speaker Corey Johnson and Comptroller Scott Stringer as well as 22 Democratic state senators…. This bill essentially cancels rent for 90 days – forgiving it entirely – allowing us to giveaway our product to the heroes on the frontline while staying afloat until the crisis is over. This bill needs to formally include corporate housing so that we can house these first responders without hemorrhaging and eventually going out of business in the short term.

If aid packages are not built for us, it will forever change the landscape of the corporate housing and apartment industries. We need your help!

There is a horrible disconnect between the stimulus packages and the corporate housing industry, and we desperately need assistance to connect the dots. We still have frontline workers sleeping in their cars in NYC, because they can't find affordable housing while corporate housing providers have tons of vacant apartments which we can't afford to put them in. Why? Because, the stimulus packages forgot about us...we need landlords to get subsidies/abatements so they can pass them on to us and we in turn can pass them to first responders. In the last week, my Company and I were featured on Tim Fleisher’s segment on ABC https://lnkd.in/e73UT2v and Sarah Wallace’s piece on NBC https://lnkd.in/eyUbn2A czy0PgyVwqOM4MhuhKa486xJk2l5cToA8A z_ both discussing the disconnect between all the frontline workers we are bringing in to NYC and the vacant accommodations that can be used to house them. These news segments are a great start but only scratch the surface on what needs to be said and done.
